Levi Theoa.
Levi had an opportunity to play at President Thabo Mbeki’s house in Houghton in 2006 and also played twice for President Ramaphosa on two different occasions in 2019.
Levi is a classical and Contemporary Cellist who can also play the violin, viola and double bass. He started his musical journey at the age of 12 through The African Cultural Organization of South Africa (ACOSA) which was the first black Youth Orchestra in South Africa. He has over twenty-three years’ experience in music.
Violin was his first choice of instrument and later moved on to cello and other strings instruments. Levi was trained by some of the most profound teachers in South Africa like Michael Masote, Sonja Bass, Peter Anne Holcroft, Kolwane Mantu and Kutlwano Masote.
He was involved in a number of Orchestras for example: The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, African Youth Ensemble, Buskeid, Soweto Symphony Orchestra, AFCOC – just to mention a few.
He has done live performances with artists like; Ringo Madlingozi, Tuks, Sibongile Khumalo, Vicki Vilakazi, Jonas Gwangwa, Rony Mokena, Chico Twala and many more.

He was featured twice in the soapy “Rhythm City” and also did one episode with “Afsonders.” Levi worked as Managing Director for Soweto Boys Opera during their tour in Scotland. He is the Founder of a classical group Mpho. Levi has traveled to: China, India, France, LA reunion islands, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Scotland, Paris, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland through music performances.
